Bootstrapped NFT startup raises seed funds through art and electronic music.
LONDON, September 8, 2021 — Triptcip — an audiovisual NFT project — has raised $40,000 within 24 hours through a pre-sale of their 16 electronic music NFTs. In a world where startups are used to dealing with venture funds and angel investors, NFTs offer a new, independent avenue for makers to support themselves during early development.
Triptcip has launched a new NFT hub that helps electronic music artists create stunning visuals for their music and generate an independent income stream through auctions. The hub combines their browser-based visual synthesizer Void (try it here) and a native NFT marketplace. It sets a precedent for what the Triptcip team believes to be the next step in the evolution of the NFT space — projects with unique value proposition and in-house minting.
The pre-sale auction featured 16 NFTs that consist of electronic music loops, visual Void sequences, and futuristic avatars, all created by the Triptcip team. “Our project came out of passion for electronic music and technology. Almost all team members have experience with music production so it felt right for us to launch the first drop ourselves,” says Triptcip founder Mike Vercoelen. “Ultimately, our goal is to create a new, real-time visual art form for electronic music. All possible now with the latest browser tech. This trippy, visual art combined with NFTs provide the perfect way for investors to help fund artists they believe in.”
Besides the pre-sale, their first official drop has landed on September 7. It features Late To Takayama, a brand new project by Danny White and Tom Glendinning (ELPHNT/Polyforms) who produced their first EP influenced by field recordings from the urban landscapes of the UK and Japan.
